Therapy

Philosophy

Very often, people who are in crisis or who are going through one of life’s many transitional times need someone who can act as a compassionate and skilled listener to the story that is unfolding in their lives. They need a guide, someone familiar with the dark places of fear and desperation, someone who knows the way through.

Good therapy isn’t about successfully dealing with a list of symptoms, a “diagnosis”, or a “client’s case”. Although, first and foremost, every therapist needs to be equipped with sound clinical skills, it is, at the end of the day, his courage in exploring himself, his humanness and hence his ability to relate to people who seek his help, that separates a therapist – from the Greek for ‘one who attends’ - from a mere clinician. I believe in the therapeutic value of Relationship, personal stories and in the potential for healing that always lies in the shadows of fear and despair.
